Shock and Denial: Screaming at the television for two hours after the game actually ended, refreshing Twitter repeatedly to make sure the score actually was 55-0
Guilt: Blaming yourself because you didn't wear your lucky socks on game day and eat your 5:00 peanut butter and jelly sandwich and sit on the couch with the pillows to your left
Anger & Bargaining: Blaming Pierre McGuire/NBC for all of your problems
Depression: Weeping uncontrollably into your jerseys, spending hours staring longingly at pictures of your captain on tumblr
Adjusting: Attempting to fill the void in your life by rooting for another team...Go Kings?
Acceptance: Creating a GM-worthy master plan for next season complete with salary figures, trade and draft prospects, and new lines

We watched our dreams go up in smoke. Everything we believed in just evaporated. It still hasn’t sunk in, and it probably won’t until someone else hoists the cup. We invested ourselves completely into supporting this team — our emotions, our time, our lives. We were dedicated without question to our blueshirts. That’s why we’re all such wrecks currently — our goal to win the cup this season is unattainable now. Everything we hoped to accomplish is gone. And since our entire lives were focused on that goal, we are lost. But just like the Rangers have done countless times, we will regroup, collect ourselves, and be ready for the next battle. Our team has so many opportunities ahead and will prove themselves in time. We will all only get stronger.
We are the garden faithful and we will always believe.

Rangers have been eliminated.
So this is what heartbreak feels like.

Hoping History Repeats Itself
The Rangers are on the brink of elimination against the Devils, headed to Jersey tomorrow for Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals, down 3 games to 2. Tomorrow just happens to be the 18th Anniversary of the same exact situation. On May 25, 1994, the Rangers were down 2 goals against the Devils, but scored the next four, including 3 from Mark Messier, who had guaranteed victory, the day before.
Tomorrow, 18 years to the day of Messier’s “called shot,” the Rangers will hope that history repeats itself. Lets Go Rangers! Believe! Because It’s The Cup!
n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness—an epic story that continues invisibly around you like an anthill sprawling deep underground, with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you’ll never know existed, in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee in the background, as a blur of traffic passing on the highway, as a lighted window at dusk.
